London ON – The community of London, Ontario was host to the Great Lakes Tour London Championship held at Tarandowah Golfers Club on May 19-20, 2016. The London Championship is the second of four 36 hole Championships on the current schedule and serves as a Major offering an increase in Order of Merit Points. Tarandowah Golfers Club in the small town of Avon ON just southeast of London played host to Championship and the par 70 Martin Hawtree design was a test for all competitors. The links style course was playing fast and firm and simply made each player strategize on every shot.

London ON - The Great Lakes Tour will be making a visit to the community of London, Ontario this week. May 19 & 20 will mark the playing of the London Championship hosted by Tarandowah Golfer's Club located Southeast of London in the small town of Avon. Local professional Alan McLean will headline the field of 45 competitors. McLean is a resident of London and calls Forest City National his Home Golf Course. In the past, McLean was a member of the European Tour, Sunshine Tour in South Africa and the MacKenzie Tour where he's a past winner. McLean played many seasons on the Great Lakes Tour and sits inside the Top 5 in all time earnings... Barrie ON - The Great Lakes Tour visited the community of Barrie, Ontario on Thursday May 12 and Friday May 13 for the first of four 36 hole championships on the current season schedule. The Barrie Classic hosted by Tangle Creek Golf Club was headlined by a number of talented professionals from across Canada. The picturesque par 72 Tangle Creek Golf Club was in wonderful spring condition and would prove to be a great test for the field of touring and PGA golf professionals. The #2 Ranked Player in the PGA of Canada player rankings, Dave Levesque, made the trip to Barrie from the province of Quebec where he is the reigning PGA of Quebec Player of the Year. Ken Tarling, a European Senior Tour member was playing alongside Levesque for the first round and local professionals Eric Hawerchuk, Drew Nesbitt, Ryan Curran, Ian Doig and Colton Kalkanis were also competing in the field of 50 players... Barrie ON - The Great Lakes Tour will be visiting Barrie ON this Thursday and Friday May 12-13 for the Barrie Classic Hosted by Tangle Creek Golf Club. This is the first of four 36 hole Championships on the current schedule and the field is shaping up to be one of the strongest in recent years. The field will feature one of Canada's top professionals as the #2 ranked PGA of Canada player Dave Levesque will be coming to Barrie. Levesque was the 2014 PGA Championship of Canada Champion, 2015 Hawkesbury Invitational Champion, 2015 Promutuel Insurance Quebec Open Champion and the 2015 PGA of Quebec Player of the Year. Levesque enters the field as one of the hottest players in the country over the past 12 months just behind the remarkable year by another Great Lakes Tour member Danny King... North Waterloo ON - The Great Lakes Tour returned to the par 71 Grey Silo Golf Course after a short absence for the first of seven GolfNorth Series events on the schedule. Grey Silo Golf Course, a property of GolfNorth, hosted the LPGA Tour's Manulife Classic from 2012 to 2014 and was a long time host facility for the Great Lakes Tour for many years previous to that. The golf course was in pristine spring condition with firm and fast conditions throughout. The field of 50 competitors were treated to some dry, cool and breezy conditions for most of the day and some of the biggest names in Ontario professional golf were present... |
