Tottenham ON - The Great Lakes Tour's first 36-hole championship of the season wrapped up yesterday at Woodington Lake GC Legacy Course for the GLT Spring Open. This was also the first of six events in the newly formed Ontario Open Qualifying Series.
With a very wet spring thus far in Ontario, the conditions of Woodington Lake GC were like most other golf courses in the GTA that are dealing with wet turf conditions. PGA of Canada Professional Ryan Lamb and the professional staff gave the players a world class welcome from start to finish while Superintendent Delky Dozzi and his staff worked hard to have the 7500 yard layout meet tournament conditions and offer the field a great test of golf. For the GLT Spring Open, GLT officials played a scorecard of 7094 yards, which proved to be a fair yet demanding set-up for the event. |
