Hamilton ON - The Great Lakes Tour (GLT) is excited to announce a 3 year partnership with the newly formed (Quebec based) Circuit Canada Pro Tour (CCPT). The CCPT is being lead by Tour President Jean Trudeau who previously held the Chief Executive Officer position for the PGA of Quebec the past 25 years...
"We are excited to partner with the Great Lakes Tour for the next 3 years." said Trudeau. "The inaugural season and beyond will be a great experience full of opportunities for members on both the CCPT and GLT."
The GLT was recently acquired by PGA of Canada members Jim Kenesky and Colin Murray. The duo have been working on new avenues for GLT members to compete and develop their games. "The relationship moving forward will allow our members on the GLT to play for significant purses while managing a travel schedule similar to that of a major Tour." GLT Tour President Jim Kenesky states. "Many of us have played in an event conducted by Jean and know how amazing of a job his team does. Professionals in Canada will have more access than ever before. It's going to be wonderful for golf."
GLT members will have many opportunities throughout the season and will qualify for CCPT National and International Division events through the current season Order of Merit. There will be a minimum of 30 spots available to CCPT major events throught the GLT Order of Merit. PGA of Canada members will have direct access to CCPT events. For National Division events, unattached Canadian professionals and non Full Card carrying Canadian members of MacKenzie Tour - PGA Tour Canada will qualify through the GLT Order of Merit. International Division events will remain open with a minimum of 30 spots guaranteed to Great Lakes National Members.
The CCPT will have up to seven events on their schedule that will include access for Great Lakes Tour members. The calendar features five National Division events and two International Division events. 36 hole tournaments will have a minimum purse at stake of $40,000 while 72 hole events will showcase purse amounts of at least $100,000.
