FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Bond Head ON - The Great Lakes Tour made a stop recently at The Club at Bond Head near Alliston ON. The beautiful Clublink facility was playing difficult but many players commented on the fast, pure greens and mentioned the surfaces were the best the GLT experienced so far this season. Brett Nymeyer (Stratford) took advantage of his extraordinary distance and the great putting surfaces to post a round of four under par 68. His round featured six birdies and two bogies. Nymeyer caught fire in the middle of his round making five birdies on holes 6 through 11. He made a late bogey on the difficult par 3 15th, but his lead was safe as he went on to win by four shots. There were five players tied for second place at even par 72. Brett Cairns (Courtland), Drew Nesbitt (Oro-Medonte), Matt Hoffman (Thornhill), Mitch Sutton (London) and Stephen Gonko (Sudbury) couldn't break the deadlock in the runner up position. Most notably... Matt Hoffman birdied his final three holes to post a round of 72 while Stephen Gonko had it to three under par through 13 holes but stumbled coming home with bogies on the final two holes. Former Team Canada Member Mitch Sutton couldn't get much going in his round with two birdies and two bogies to maintain the 5 way tie for second.
With the win Brett Nymeyer takes home $900 and 500 points in the Order of Merit Standings. Nymeyer currently sits 7th with 806.00 points while David M. Sheman (Newmarket) who did not participate at Bond Head is on top of the Order of Merit with 1585.00 points. He leads John Maley (Sudbury) by 400.36 points.
