Hamilton ON - The Great Lakes Tour is excited to announce new ownership. Jim Kenesky and Colin Murray, both of Hamilton, Ontario, will become the majority co-owners of the Great Lakes Golf Tour Limited. The purchase includes shares of the GLT and the Southern Ontario Open. Jim Kenesky and Colin Murray, PGA of Canada members, recently joined forces and began Kenesky Murray Golf Services (KMGS) in November 2015. The company was recently awarded the contract of services to conduct and manage the PGA of Ontario Player of the Year Series events. KMGS will oversee all Great Lakes Tour (GLT) operations... "Between Jim and Colin’s passion and dedication to the growth of competitive golf in Canada and my time commitments, it seemed right to hand the keys over." Said David Brisson. "John and I feel that the Great Lakes Tour has the right people in place moving forward. With so much going on with my consulting business and the rapid growth of key client Wheels Up, I was struggling to dedicate the time moving into the upcoming season."
Kenesky stated that their, "goal is to grow the competitive golf scene in Ontario and beyond. The Great Lakes Tour is very special to Colin and I. We have both played many years on the Tour and it has truly helped us develop as professionals. We are extremely excited to begin operation of the GLT and to ensure the long term sustainability." Kenesky Murray Golf Services has a tournament crew that will service all the events managed and operated by the company. They have full resources available to conduct professional events including live scoring systems, large manual leaderboards, rules officials and the expertise of setting up golf courses for any type of event. "We are very confident in our ability to create and deliver the atmosphere expected of our participants and host facilities." Murray comments. KMGS has already been at work and their first task has been the current season schedule and membership program. These are expected to be ready for an end of January release. KMGS will also assume the responsibility of the Southern Ontario Open which sits as the only Open Golf Championship in the province of Ontario. David Brisson will remain as an adviser to the Southern Ontario Open while John Brisson and Norm Stewart will continue to work and assist with the GLT events. "We are pleased to have John Brisson and Norm Stewart remain on staff for the Great Lakes Tour events. They have great passion in assisting with and seeing the growth of the GLT." Mentions Kenesky regarding the staff changes. “They are great at what they do and will remain important parts of our team.” The 15th season expects to be a great one for the Great Lakes Tour. The new ownership has passion for growing the game of golf and developing member opportunities. Kenesky and Murray are both very excited saying that there are some great surprises in store for the 2016 GLT season. I would would to congratulate Jim and Colin in there new ownership of the GLT. I am confident in both men's abilities to take the tour to the next level. They seem to have a direction and vision and I believe they will make it happen. I would to thank John and David Brisson and the volunteers for all they have done for myself and the GLT. Best of luck to all and look forward to seeing all the good things that are going to happen.
